- Be on time! Participants that are not present during the final registration at the site will be disqualified. Also, entries that are not submitted on time after the ending signal will be disqualified.
- You will have to have a team consisting of 1-5 team members. If you’re not applying to the competition as a team you will have the same chance to find a team at the site - team activities will be present. The organizers reserve their right to assign team members to a team in extreme circumstances.
- You may only submit (present) your own work, not someone else's. Anyone in the team may submit the final result. Clarification: We will not judge work done by someone else but you or your team.
- If you submit something, you have to be present at the party, a tip is to think about the presentation from the start (which actually got its own prize).
- A test machine will be set up so that your results may be tested before the actual presentation. (Addition: Since most of you will develop on your own machines, we've decided that you may hook up your own equipment)
- Any kind of content that violates Swedish law will be disqualified.
- Entries may contain third-party content as long as you have a legal license to use the given content. So no ripped music, no movie snippets, no closeups of trademarked logos, etc. Please do mind that DreamHack may also provide material allowed to be used during the event.
- To preserve the spirit of the contest we reserve our right to kick teams out of the competition whenever a team show bad sportsmanship, try to cheat or upright steal material from others. Hackathon code of conduct: http://www.hackbrightacademy.com/code_of_conduct_for_hackathons
- All shown entries may be spread.
- Competing entries may not have been released before. To ensure a level field for all contestants, all code, design, art, music, SFX, and assets must be created during the duration of the Hackathon. We want to ensure that all participants start off on the same footing and we also want to preserve the true nature of a hackathon. Clarification: The results you are COMPETING with cannot be created beforehand. Example: A new level in an already existing game is okay, but remember that content not created at the hackathon will not help you toward the prize. See the updates section for more information.
- The judges will always have the final say, their decisions cannot be overruled or changed.
- You must be at least 18 years old in order to participate.
